‘Hoos Achieving

The Hoos Achieving Award recognizes a University of Virginia student-athlete who has exemplified the pursuit of “Uncompromised Excellence”. This student-athlete demonstrates hard work, determination, and extraordinary effort in many aspects of life.

University of Virginia student-athletes are recognized for their academic success and commitment to excellence. Each semester, the student-athletes who earn a 3.0 GPA and above are recognized during halftime of a football or basketball game. The Athletics Academic Affairs Office also selects a small group of student-athletes to be honored monthly with the Hoo’s Achieving Award. Finally, The University of Virginia is proud to have student-athletes who have earned Academic All American Honors as well as University of Virginia academic awards and scholarships.
