Purchase UVa Basketball Tickets
CHARLOTTESVILLEThe Virginia Sports Network and the University of Virginia athletics department announced Tuesday that the network’s men’s basketball radio broadcasts will be carried by WJFK 106.7 FM, as well as WTGB 94.7 FM and WPGC 1580 AM as part of a multiyear agreement. WJFK will carry the majority of the broadcasts with the other two CBS RADIO stations picking up select games during the regular season if/when there is a scheduling conflict.
“WJFK is proud to team with the University of Virginia to bring exciting ACC basketball in full FM stereo to listeners in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and D.C.,” said Michael Hughes, Senior Vice President and General Manager of WJFK and WTGB.
“We are very pleased to add WJFK and two of its sister stations to the Virginia Sports Network,” said Jim Kuznar, General Manager of Virginia Sports Properties. “WJFK 106.7 FM provides us with an extended reach into the DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia areas, all of which are very important markets for Virginia Athletics.”
Virginia’s 2008-09 men’s basketball regular season begins on Nov. 16 when in-state rival VMI visits UVa’s John Paul Jones Arena.
