CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Led by a strong pitching performance from Andrew Carraway (Sr., Marietta, Ga.) and Matt Packer (Jr., Germantown, Tenn.), the Blue Team posted a 2-1 Game 7 win Tuesday night at Davenport Field to win the Orange and Blue World Series.

Carraway started and went five innings, allowing just an earned run and six hits with five strikeouts. Packer, who was credited with the win, tossed the final four innings and allowed just two batters to reach base. He struck out two and gave up only one hit.

The Orange pitching was solid as well. Starter Danny Hultzen (Fr., Bethesda, Md.) surrendered just a run, three hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out five. Neal Davis (Jr., Baltimore, Md.) allowed a run, four hits and a walk in four innings and took the loss.

With the teams tied at one in the eighth inning, the Blue broke the stalemate as Jarrett Parker (So., Stafford, Va.) tripled to the right-field corner with one out and scored when David Coleman (So., Richmond, Va.) doubled to center field.

Corey Hunt (Jr., Charlottesville, Va.) was the lone member of the Blue Team with more than one hit. He went 2-for-4 with two singles, a stolen base and an RBI. Tyler Cannon (Jr., Pigeon Forge, Tenn.) went 2-for-4 with a stolen base for the Orange.
