Charlottesville, VA If the Cavalier football team qualifies for postseason play, the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office will use a modified process to notify fans of their options to purchase tickets for any postseason game, including the ACC Championship contest. In past ticket campaigns for bowl games, an e-mail notification and a mass mailing were sent to provide information on the sale and distribution of tickets. This year, the primary means of communication will be through electronic mail. All season ticket holders and donors who have provided an e-mail to the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office will only receive e-mails with post season ticket sales information. Those who do not have an e-mail on file will receive information through the mail.
“We still want to encourage our fans to support our team in postseason play as we have done in the past and we believe that electronic mail is a cost efficient way to distribute information about the postseason process,” said Jon Oliver, Executive Associate Athletics Director. “We incur a significant amount of expense each time we send out a mass mailing and we will continue to explore ways to reduce printing and mailing costs in the future.”
Under the new plan, if Virginia is in contention for the ACC Coastal Division title, an e-mail will be sent on approximately November 14th to all donors and season ticket holders who have an e-mail address on file. Fans who do not have e-mail addresses on file will receive the information through the mail. The information will detail the process to order (request) ACC Championship game tickets and include postseason bowl ticket information.
All communications will promote the preferred method of ordering (requesting) post season tickets online at VirginiaSports.com. However, individuals are also encouraged to call with questions and to order (request) their tickets over the phone.
