CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. The Virginia rowing team’s novices will compete against novice crews from Georgetown and George Washington on Saturday (Nov. 8) at the Rivanna Reservoir in Charlottesville, Va. Competition is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
Saturday’s event marks the third of five fall events on the Cavaliers’ schedule. The two remaining events are a scrimmage vs. Iowa (Nov. 14, Charlottesville, Va.) and The Rivanna Romp (Nov. 16, Charlottesville, Va.).
In the novice eight final at the Princeton Chase on Oct. 26, Virginia “A” finished second with a time of 16:38.9, while Virginia “B” finished seventh with a time of 17:29.2.
Last spring, the novice eight finished second at the ACC Championship and the South/Central Regional Championships. Novices coach Sarah Cannon is in her second season at Virginia.
Up next for Virginia rowing is a Friday, Nov. 14 scrimmage vs. Iowa at the Rivanna Reservoir. The race is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
