CHARLOTTESVILLEAssane Sene, a freshman center on the Virginia men’s basketball team, will be held out of games pending the resolution of his eligibility status, UVa Athletics Director Craig Littlepage announced Sunday (Nov. 16). Sene will continue to practice with the team.
“Because of a recent NCAA interpretation, there are some aspects of Assane’s pre-college enrollment that must be reviewed further,” Littlepage said. “We’re looking to have this resolved quickly.”
Sene is from Saint-Louis, Senegal. He attended South Kent Preparatory School in South Kent, Conn., during the 2007-08 academic year.
