Following the season he was selected in the second round of the Major League Lacrosse draft by the Chicago Machine and appeared in five games during his rookie year. He appeared in 63 games during his UVa career and scored 18 goals with seven assists.

In high school in Baldwin, N.Y., he was named his school’s best athlete and was a member of the National Honor Society.

They also are gathering with those closest to Will, including his teammates and coaches, in order to provide comfort and support. We will continue to work together as a community to help each other through this very difficult time.”

Dom Starsia:

“I can only begin to describe adequately the agony within the Virginia Lacrosse community. Will is a dear friend, respected and admired universally by his peers and the staff. He was a leader in our program, on and off the lacrosse field. We have been together as a family as much as possible during this difficult period and will continue to depend on each other for comfort and solace.
