Opening statement:
“It was good to win the game tonight, it really was. This was a very tough team and getting Shanavia Dowdell in foul trouble early was a key to the game. She’s a talented player and I was really proud of our defense in the first half, I thought it was exceptional. I was glad to come out with a win. Louisiana Tech is a storied and proud program and I think that they will probably win their league so it’s a good feather in our cap.”
On withstanding the Louisiana Tech rally:
“I thought we did the best we could to put them away. They were not going to go away. They have very talented players and we were in a little bit of foul trouble so that made things a little bit difficult. Towards the end of the game, we didn’t find a rhythm. We never let them get it under a double-digit lead so I was happy with that.”
On the play of Lyndra Littles:
“Lyndra had an incredible game and she is such a talented kid. It’s tough to stop her. We can run Lyndra like a guard and it makes it hard for the opposing post player.”
On the Cavaliers’ next game, Friday vs. Georgia:
“Andy’s [Landers] a great coach. He’s always going to have his teams prepared. We’re going to have to play. This is another game that is another SEC team and another test for us.”
