Harrison Wins 5000-meter Run at Alex Wilson Invitational

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Senior Emily Harrison ran a 16:16.53 to lead all competitors in the 5,000-meters at the Alex Wilson Invitational inside the Loftus Sports Center on the campus of Notre Dame Friday evening. Harrison ranked 13th nationally before improving her time tonight.
The ACC men’s distance medley relay champions shaved some time off of their already provisional qualifying mark also, taking fourth in the event with a time of 9:41.75.
For both Harrison and the men’s DMR team of senior Alex Tatu, sophomore Brian Lee, senior Jordan Orr and junior Andrew Jesien, in addition to those Cavaliers who have met NCAA provisional marks this season will be at large candidates for the NCAA Championships scheduled for next weekend, March 14-15, in Arkansas. The final participation list for the championships will be announced on Monday.
