CHARLOTTESVILLE In a final non-conference tune-up before beginning its ACC schedule, the 15th-ranked Virginia women’s basketball team hosts St. Francis (Pa.) Monday night at John Paul Jones Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast over the airwaves in the Charlottesville area on WINA 1070 AM with Jay James, Myron Ripley and Larry Johnson calling the action.

Virginia (12-2) has won seven-consecutive games and is undefeated at home this year with a perfect 8-0 record. The Cavaliers downed Georgia in their last outing, 62-60, Friday night at JPJA. It was the second victory over an SEC opponent this year, as UVa got the best of Tennessee on Nov. 17, 83-82, in Knoxville, Tenn.
Monica Wright led the Cavs with 24 points, while Lyndra Littles added 23 points in victory. Aisha Mohammed, who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Dec. 10 that sidelined her for four games, returned on Jan. 2 against Georgia and played 15 minutes.
The game vs. the Red Flash is a final tune-up before the heart of the Atlantic Coast Conference schedule starts on Sunday, Jan. 11, vs. Wake Forest.
St. Francis is led by Britney Hodges, who averages 11.5 points per game, and Allison Daly, who averages 11.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. The Red Flash is coming off of a loss on Jan. 3 to Robert Morris, 79-59.
Virginia holds a 5-0 all-time record against St. Francis. The most recent meeting took place on Dec. 21, 2004, a 84-50 Cavalier victory at University Hall. UVa is 4-0 all-time at home and 1-0 all-time away against St. Francis.
Following Monday’s game, Virginia begins ACC play on Sunday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. vs. Wake Forest. The Cavaliers will then travel to unbeaten North Carolina on Jan. 16.
