Sebring, FL Virginia junior golfer Whitney Neuhauser (Barboursville, Va.) continued her outstanding play this season by finishing fifth Saturday at the 54th annual Harder Hall Women’s Invitational, one of the nation’s top amateur events. Senior teammate Kristen Simpson (Norfolk, Va.) was 20th overall in the 112-player field.

Neuhauser had rounds of 72, 69, 74 and 71 to finish at 2-under 286 on the par-72 Harder Hall Golf Course. Neuhauser completed Virginia’s fall schedule ranked 11th in the nation in the Golfweek standings.

Simpson finished the tournament at 15-over 303 with rounds of 81, 72, 75 and 75.

Auburn junior Candace Schepperle used a final round course record of 65 to win the tournament at 13-under 275.
