Student Manager Application
If you are interested in becoming a student manager at the University of Virginia please check out what it involves.
A Football Student Manager at the University of Virginia is required to work all practices, games, and training camps. This includes the month of August, Thanksgiving, and Christmas if a bowl game is involved. Anyone interested should take this into consideration before making a decision.
Each manager is assigned a coach that he/she works with. It is their duty to check with the coaches to see what they will need for daily practices. Along with working practices, each manager is responsible for a certain number of players. They are responsible for checking and maintaining their practice helmets and shoulder pads.
Along with practice helmets and shoulder pads, each manager is responsible for the player’s game helmet, game shoes, and packing their game bag. Game bags are packed on Thursday after practice, when we also load the truck up for games.
Check out the job description for more information about what a manager does each semester. You can also view the Student Manager Brochure and a Powerpoint presentation about the Equipment Room.
