CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia shortstop Tyler Cannon has been named to the 2009 Men’s College World Series All-Tournament Team, which was announced last night following the conclusion of the CWS.

Cannon hit a team-best .600 (6-for-10) in the College World Series and had a .733 on base percentage. He reached base at least three times in all three games and scored three times.

In the opening game vs. LSU, Cannon went 3-for-4 with a triple, walk and two runs scored. He then was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks, a run scored and an RBI in the Cavaliers’ win over Cal State Fullerton. Cannon finished his strong run with a 2-for-4 outing against Arkansas.
