CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. For the first time, the Virginia baseball team has advanced to the NCAA College World Series in Omaha, Neb. A limited number of tickets for this exciting series will be available for purchase by Virginia fans.

The College World Series features an initial round of double-elimination play within two pools of four teams each. The winners of each pool advance to play in the Finals series, which is a best two out of three competition.

Tickets for the 2009 College World Series will go on sale at 9 a.m. Monday. Baseball season ticket holders and Virginia Athletics Foundation donors will have an exclusive priority opportunity to purchase College World Series tickets on Monday, June 8 from 9 am to 5 pm.

Members of the general public may purchase tickets, subject to availability, on Tuesday, June 9 beginning at 9 am. The ticket office phone number is (800) 542-8821.

All tickets will be within the Virginia allotment, as determined by the NCAA. Seating locations will be determined first in Virginia Athletics Foundation priority point order for donors, and then in random order for season ticket holders.

In placing their order, customers commit to the purchase of tickets for all games in which Virginia will participate throughout the tournament. Customers will not be charged for tickets to games in which Virginia does not play.

Should the demand for tickets exceed the supply limits may be placed on accounts and Virginia Athletics Foundation priority points will be used to determine the selection of accounts to receive tickets. Refunds will be made for any orders not filled.

All tickets purchased will be available for game day pickup at the Virginia squad guest area at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb..

Ticket Pricing
Tickets are $20 each for games in the pool competition (up to four possible games), and $27 each for games in the Championship Series. Customers placing an order will be initially charged for the first 2 games of pool competition ($40 per seat), with additional games charged individually as Virginia advances. A $5 order charge applies to all ticket orders.
