UVa Golfers Move up to Ninth at Fall Preview

Bryan, Texas – The 11th-ranked Virginia women’s golf team shot 2-over 290 to move up six spots on the leaderboard into ninth place after the second round of play at The Fall Preview taking place at Texas A&M.
The Cavaliers were led by the 4-under 68 of senior Calle Nielson. She moved up to 15th place in stroke play with a two-day total of 2-under 142. Sophomore Nicole Agnello also posted a round in the 60s to aid the Cavaliers. Agnello, who opened with a 76 Monday, shot 3-under 69 to improve to 24th place.
For the second consecutive day Brittany Altomare shot 74 and is 34th at 148. Eleana Collins is in 74th place at 156 and Joy Kim is 89th at 164.
Alabama took over the team lead by shooting 8-under 280 for a 36-hole total of 566. LSU is in second place at 570 in the event that features 13 of the top 15 ranked teams in the nation. Alabama’s Brooke Pancake and Vanderbilt’s Marina Alex share the individual lead at 6-under 138.
