CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Over 300 individuals attended a private party at the University of Virginia’s Darden School on Saturday night to celebrate UVa’s 2011 NCAA title. Ten members of the squad were also honored with team awards for their accomplishments during the title campaign.
“We are very happy and proud to have announced our team award winners during the ceremony that celebrated our 2011 National Championship,” said UVa head coach Dom Starsia. “It was a day that included an emotional crowd response at the football game, pictures and autographs with 2003, 2006 and 2011 Tewarraton award winners Chris Rotelli, Matt Ward and Steele Stanwick, a reception with the team, University dignitaries and alums and a ring ceremony kicked off with remarks by Craig Littlepage and President Teresa Sullivan.
“If there is truth to the proposition that you need to celebrate properly in order to truly move on, we begin the 2012 season journey with a burst of momentum. I would just like to say thanks to everyone who made this day and this 2011 season such a meaningful event in our lives.”
