Cavalier Women's Golfers Open Play at Landfall Tradition

Wilmington, NC – The Virginia women’s golf team is in 17th place after the opening 18 holes of play at The Landfall Tradition taking place in Wilmington, N.C. The Cavaliers posted a score of 33-over 321 in the breezy, cool conditions. Auburn leads the field at 9-over 297.
The Cavaliers were led by junior Nicole Agnello’s 3-over 75 which put her in eighth place after the first day of play. Brittany Altomare is 53rd at 80, Elizabeth Brightwell is 66th at 81, Portland Rosen is 82nd at 85 and Kaira Martin is 87th with an 87.
Purdue’s Paula Reto leads the field at 1-under 71. Only one other player, Auburn’s Victoria Trapani, managed to shoot par Friday.
The second round of the event takes place Saturday and the final round is scheduled for Sunday. Live scoring is online at Golfstat.com.
