Bracket Unveiled for ACC Field Hockey Championship

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia field hockey team earned the No. 6 seed in the upcoming ACC Championship, which begins Thursday in College Park, Md. The Cavaliers (8-11, 1-4 ACC) will play Duke for the second time in five days in first round action. The match will be streamed online at www.theACC.com.
Virginia opens the league tournament against the Blue Devils (11-6, 2-3 ACC) for the fourth consecutive year. No. 5 Boston College and No. 4 Wake Forest is the other first round game on Thursday, scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
The winner of UVa-Duke will face No. 2 Maryland in the semifinals at 3:30 p.m. Friday. North Carolina earned the top seed after finishing 5-0 in conference play.
The title game is set for 1 p.m. Sunday and will be televised on the ACC’s Regional Sports Network.
The Cavaliers upset sixth-ranked Duke 3-2 in penalty strokes Saturday in the regular season finale at the University Hall Turf Field.
