UVa Men's Golfers in Seventh Place at Northern Open

Sugar Grove, Ill. – The Virginia men’s golf team was in seventh place on the leaderboard when play was suspended during the second round of the Northern Open in Sugar Grove, Ill. The Cavaliers stand at 51-over par after posting a morning round team score of 319.
Indiana, which had completed both of its rounds Saturday, leads the field at 31-over 599. St. Mary’s (Calif.), which also finished 36 holes of play, was in second place at 39-over 607.
Sophomore Denny McCarthy posted scores of 3-over 74 for both rounds and was tied for eighth when play stopped. Freshman Kyle Kochevar had rounds of 82 and 72 and was tied for 17th place. Ji Soo Park posted scores of 81 and 76 and was in 28th place. Mac McLaughlin was in 43rd place at 18-over 160. Gregor Orlando was the only Cavalier not to complete his second round.
