Women's Tennis Unbeaten at ITA Atlantic Regional

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia women’s tennis team went unbeaten during Saturday’s action at the ITA Atlantic Regional at Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center. The Cavaliers had six players reach the round of 32 of singles and three teams reach the round of 16 of doubles.
The six Cavaliers in singles are all seeded, including five of the top eight seeds. Each Virginia player advanced with a straight-set win on Saturday as No. 2 seed Li Xi (Kunming, China), No. 3 seed Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas), No. 4 seed Erin Vierra (Norwell, Mass.), No. 6 seed Maria Fuccillo (Rockville, Md.), No. 8 seed Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) and No. 9-16 seed Caryssa Peretz (Cherry Hill, N.J.) were victorious.
In doubles, the second-seeded team of Nauta and Xi, the fifth-seeded duo of Peretz and Fuccillo and the seventh-seeded pair of Epstein and Vierra all advanced to the round of 16.
The tournament continues Sunday on the campus of Virginia Tech with one round of doubles and two rounds of singles.
