GREENSBORO, N.C.–Senior Virginia swimmer Lauren Perdue has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Female Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday (Nov. 6).
Perdue had four first-place finishes and posted two NCAA B qualifying times to lead the Cavaliers to a dual meet victory over South Carolina. The Greenville, N.C., native won the 50 free in 22.82, the sixth-best time in the country, and touched first in the 200 free in 1:46.66, tied for seventh-best in the nation. She also was the anchor in the 200 medley relay (1:42.74) and the leadoff in the 400 free relay (3:27.51).
It is Perdue’s eighth weekly honor of her career and the Cavaliers’ second honor in consecutive weeks, as junior Rachel Naurath (Manakin-Sabot, Va.) was honored last week.
The Cavaliers return to action Nov. 16-17 when they face Big Ten opponents Penn State and Indiana in Bloomington, Ind.
