CHARLOTTESVILLE – The ACC Champion Virginia women’s soccer team will host ACC rival Duke in the Round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday. Game time for the matchup of the ACC’s two highest scoring teams is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Klöckner Stadium.

Tickets are $9 for reserved seats, $7 for adult general admission and $5 for youth/student/senior citizen general admission. Fans can order tickets for the tournament online at VirginiaSports.com and by phone through the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office at 800-542-UVA1 (8821) or 434-924-UVA1 (8821). Tickets will also be available at the gate beginning one hour prior to the start of play.

With women’s basketball hosting Providence at 2 p.m., free parking will be available for both women’s soccer and women’s basketball fans in the University Hall and McCue Center lots and in Emmet/Ivy Parking Garage. The John Paul Jones Arena west lot is reserved for women’s basketball permit holders and therefore unavailable on Sunday for women’s soccer fans.

This season marks the 15th time in the past 19 years that the Cavaliers have hosted NCAA Tournament play at Klöckner Stadium. Overall, Virginia has a 21-10-3 record in home NCAA Tournament games.

The Cavaliers enter the game with an 18-4-1 record, tying the school record for wins in a season with their 6-1 victory over Rutgers in the NCAA Second Round on Friday. The six goals were a season high and tied the school record for most goals in a NCAA Tournament game. Virginia is in the NCAA Round of 16 for the eighth consecutive year, tied for the second-longest active streak in the nation, and is looking to advance to the quarterfinals for the second consecutive season.

Duke is 14-5-2 after a 4-1 second-round win over Miami (Ohio) on Friday at Klöckner Stadium. The 2011 NCAA Runner-Up Blue Devils are seeking their fourth quarterfinal appearance in the past six years.

Virginia leads the all-time series between the teams 18-11-7, including a 9-4-3 record in Charlottesville. The Cavaliers are unbeaten against the Blue Devils (7-0-2) in the regular season over the past nine years, including a 1-0 win on Sept. 30 of this season. However, Duke has won both NCAA Tournament meetings between the teams during that span (2004 second round, 2008 round of 16). Overall, the Blue Devils have won all four previous NCAA Tournament meetings between the teams, with three of those wins coming in Charlottesville. Including neutral site games, Duke is 5-0 all-time in NCAA Tournament play at Klöckner Stadium.

The Virginia-Duke winner will meet the Penn State-Michigan winner in the quarterfinals. That game will be played next week with the location, date and time to be determined by the NCAA following the conclusion of play on Sunday.
