GREENSBORO, N.C.—Freshman Virginia swimmer Courtney Bartholomew has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Female Co-Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday (Nov. 20).

A native of Holland, Mich., Bartholomew notched two individual wins against No. 14 Indiana and Penn State, sweeping the backstroke races. The freshman tallied two NCAA B marks and recorded the top times in the conference in both the 100 back (53.68) and the 200 back (1:55.33).

Bartholomew is the third Cavalier to earn a weekly honor this season, joining senior Lauren Perdue (Greenville, N.C.) and junior Rachel Naurath (Manakin-Sabot, Va.).

Virginia Tech senior Heather Savage was honored as female co-swimmer of the week along with Bartholomew.

The Cavaliers travel to Athens, Ga., Nov. 30-Dec. 2 for their final meet of 2012, the Georgia Fall Invite, which is slated to feature squads from California, Georgia and Auburn.
