We’re here for the last day of NCAAs. We’ll start with the prelims of the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 200 fly, 400 free relay and platform diving events.

200 Back Prelims (6 heats)
UVa Record:

Hoos Competing: Jack Murfee (heat 2), Matt Murray (heat 3), Luke Papendick (heat 6)

Jack Murfee was seventh in heat two in a time of 1:45.21, while Matt Murray was sixth in heat three in 1:43.84.

Luke Papendick placed fifth in the sixth heat in a school-record time of 1:41.56, beating his time at the ACC Championships by 0.34.

Tonight: Papendick will swim in the consolation final after placing 11th overall. Murray was 31st overall, while Murfee was 41st.

David Ingraham placed fifth in heat one in a time of 1:45.99 to finish 33rd overall.

The foursome of Tom Barrett, Parker Camp, Charlie Rommel and Nick Alexiou finished second in heat one in a time of 2:54.90, the fourth-fastest time in school history. The 400 free relay finished 20th overall.

JB Kolod placed 21st in platform diving with 306.9 points.

Hoos Competing: Brad Phillips (heat 2), Jan Daniec (heat 4)

Juniors Jan Daniec and Brad Phillips finished the 1,650 free timed finals in a tie for 22nd place in 14.58.21. That mark moves Phillips up to eighth on UVa’s all-time list.

200 Back Consolation Final

Hoos Competing: Luke Papendick

Papendick broke the 200 back school record with a time of 1:41.50, winning the consolation final to finish ninth overall. That mark is the second-fastest time in Atlantic Coast Conference history.

Back at the IU Natatorium for the prelims of the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and 3-meter diving events.

200 Medley Relay (4 heats, UVa in heat 1)
UVa Record:
1:25.99 (Olesen, Hurley, Robertson, Robison, 2009)
Season-Best: 1:27.01 (Murfee, Kaeser, Fox, Rommel)

The foursome of Jack Murfee, Taylor Grey, Matt Murray and Charlie Rommel won heat one and placed 20th overall in a time of 1:26.89, the fifth-fastest time in school history.

400 IM (5 heats)

Season-Best: 3:45.93 (David Ingraham)

Hoos Competing: Brad Phillips (heat 2), David Ingraham (heat 4)

Phillips finished second in heat two in 3:46.78, just 0.06 off his best time, while Ingraham was fifth in heat four in 3:46.36.

Ingraham placed 18th overall, while Phillips was 21st.

200 Free (7 heats)

Hoos Competing: Nick Alexiou (heat 6), Tom Barrett (heat 7)

Alexiou and Barrett placed sixth and seventh in heat six in 1:35.73 and 1:36.04, respectively. They finished 27th and 29th overall.

100 Breast (6 heats)

Grey placed fifth in heat two and 34th overall in a time of 52.22.

Hoos Competing: Luke Papendick (heat 3), Matt Murray (heat 3), Jack Murfee (heat 4)

Papendick placed third in heat three in 47.14, while Murray was fifth in 47.34. Murfee placed fifth in heat four in 46.76, just .07 off his school-record time.

Overall, Murfee placed 19th overall, while Papendick and Murray were 26th and 28th, respectively.

3-Meter Diving (35 divers)
UVa Record:

Season-Best: 424.85 (Kolod)

Hoos Competing: JB Kolod

Kolod finished the prelims with a score of 371.15 points, good enough for 11th place and earned him a spot in the consolation finals.

In the consolation finals, Kolod placed fourth with 357.25 points for 12th overall, the highest finish by a male diver in UVa diving history. He becomes the second Cavalier male diver to earn honorable mention All-America status, joining Briggy Imbriglia (2012 – platform).

800 Free Relay

The foursome of Nick Alexiou, Parker Camp, Tom Barrett and Jonathan Buerger finished 13th overall in a time of 6:23.79. Full results will be posted soon on VirginiaSports.com.

We’re back live at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium. This week’s it’s the men’s turn and this morning, we’ll have the prelims of the 200 free relay, 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 400 medley relay and 1-meter diving.

200 Free Relay (4 heats, UVa in heat 1)

The foursome of Tom Barrett, Charlie Rommel, Parker Camp and Matt Murray placed second in heat one in a time of 1:19.31 for 25th overall.

Alexiou finished fifth in heat three in 4:22.05. Daniec was seventh in heat six in 4:18.97, while Phillips was eighth in 4:22.24.

Daniec placed 24th overall, while Alexiou and Phillips were 37th and 38th, respectively.

Ingraham was third in heat three in 1:46.90, while Papendick was fifth in 1:47.40.

Ingraham placed 48th overall, while Papendick was 53rd.

400 Medley Relay (4 heats, UVa in heat 2)
