Cavaliers Conclude Play at UVa Ranked+1 Invitational

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis team concluded play at its first home tournament of the fall during the final day of the UVa Ranked+1 Invitational at the Snyder Tennis Center. The Cavaliers had two players competing for singles flight titles during Sunday’s action.
In the Blue Singles final, second seeded sophomore Ryan Shane (Falls Church, Va.) was edged by top-seed Cameron Silverman of Elon, ranked No. 35 nationally, 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. In the Orange Singles final, first-year Luca Corinteli (Alexandria, Va.) had to retire early in his match against third-seeded Andreas Bjerrehus of Virginia Tech.
The Cavaliers will return to action with the ITA All-American Championships. The tournament runs Sept. 28 through Oct. 6 in Tulsa, Okla.
