Elbaba Advances to Consolation Finals at ITA All-American

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) advanced to the main draw consolation singles finals Saturday (Oct. 5) at the 2013 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club.
Elbaba defeated UCLA’s Chanelle Van Nguyen 7-6(2), 4-6, 6-3 in the consolation semifinals and will play Florida’s Brianna Morgan in the finals Sunday.
Virginia’s Caryssa Peretz (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Marie Faure (Toulouse, France) continued singles and doubles action at the Northwestern Invite in Evanston, Ill.
Faure beat Northwestern’s Jillian Rooney 6-5(4), 6-1, while Peretz lost 5-6(4), 6-5(5), 6-0 to the Wildcats’ Lok Sze Leung.
Peretz and Faure went 2-0 in doubles, defeating Minnesota’s Natallia Pintusava and Julia Courter (6-0) and Wisconsin’s Lauren Chypyha and Helen Rabot (6-1). Peretz and Faure conclude action at the Northwestern Invite Sunday.
