Aragone Wins First Collegiate Title at UVa Fall Classic

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Virginia men’s tennis team concluded its home fall schedule Sunday with the final day of the UVa Fall Classic. The Cavaliers’ highlight of the tournament was first-year J.C. Aragone (Yorba Linda, Calif.) winning his first collegiate championship.
Aragone downed Diego Nunez of East Tennessee State, 7-6, 6-4, in the Sunday’s final of the White Singles draw. It capped a four-victory weekend as he posted the first tournament title of his career.
Sophomore Harrison Richmond (Pawleys Island, S.C.), fell in the Blue Singles final on Sunday, losing to Michal Voseck of VCU, 7-6, 6-2.
The Cavaliers return to action on Oct. 17 as the ITA Atlantic Regional begins at Virginia Tech.
