Virginia Continues ACC Road Swing at Maryland, Pitt This Weekend

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The Virginia volleyball team continues ACC play this weekend with road matches at Maryland on Friday (Oct. 4) and Pittsburgh on Saturday (Oct. 5). Both contests are set for 7 p.m. starts.

UVa (8-6, 1-1 ACC) split its first two conference matches of the season, falling last weekend at Duke, 3-0, before sweeping Wake Forest, 3-0. Senior Emily Rottman (Santa Barbara, Calif.) is closing in on 1,500 career digs and currently stands at 1,462, the fourth-most tally in Cavalier history.
The Terps (9-5, 1-1 ACC) split a part of matches last weekend, defeating Georgia Tech, 3-2, before falling against Clemson, 3-1, in College Park, Md. Mary Cushman leads Maryland with 3.54 kills per set and 3.10 digs per set.
The Panthers (10-5, 2-0) opened ACC play with sweeps of Georgia Tech and Clemson. Pitt is led by Kate Yeazel and Jessica Wynn, who average 3.14 and 3.12 kills per set, respectively.
Up next, the Cavaliers host their first ACC matches of the season next weekend when Syracuse (Oct. 11) and Boston College (Oct. 12) come to Memorial Gymnasium. Both matches are set for a 7 p.m. start.
