Courtney Bartholomew Named ACC Female Swimmer of Week

GREENSBORO, N.C.—Virginia sophomore swimmer Courtney Bartholomew has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Female Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday (Nov. 26).
A native of Holland, Mich, Bartholomew set ACC, Virginia school, McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion and Ohio State Invite records in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events last weekend (Nov. 22-24). In the 100 back, Bartholomew clocked a time of 50.73, the fastest time in the nation this season and moved her into fifth place on the all-time list for the event. In the 200 back, the sophomore finished in a time of 1:50.55, also the fastest time in the country this year and moved her into ninth all-time for event.
In addition, Bartholomew led off the 200 medley relay that automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships in 1:37.67 and placed fifth in the 200 IM in 1:57.45, the ninth-fastest time in the country this season.
