CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s lacrosse head coach Dom Starsia announced that Logan Greco has signed a National Letter of Intent for the 2014-15 academic year. Greco increases UVa’s signing class for the class of 2018 to 11 members after 10 signed during the November period.

“We are pleased to announce the addition of Logan to the Virginia Class of 2018,” said Starsia. “He is a rugged athlete, a captain and one of the top defensemen in this high school class. His Smithtown West team is presently undefeated and ranked among the nation’s best.”

Greco is a 6-foot, 205-pound defenseman from Hauppauge, N.Y. Greco currently has helped Smithtown West High School to an 8-0 record and they are ranked No. 6 in the nation and No. 2 in the Northeast Region. Greco played for the Long Island team at the 2013 Under Armour Underclassmen Games. Greco was a running back and outside linebacker for Smithtown West’s football team, rushing for 1,288 yards and 12 touchdowns to help the Bulls to an 8-2 record in 2013, reaching the Suffolk II semifinal. Greco will rejoin former Smithtown West teammate and current UVa sophomore attackman, James Pannell, in Charlottesville.

Greco rounds out UVa’s class of Tyler Breen (Shrewsbury, Mass.), Townsend Brown (Annandale, Va.), Chase Campbell (Baltimore, Md.), Mike D’Amario (Schenectady, N.Y.), Jack Falk (Washington, D.C.), Cooper Fersen (Dorset, Vt.), Cory Harris (Fairfax, Va.), Scott Hooper (Wakefield, R.I.), Will Railey (Chevy Chase, Md.) and Will Sipperly (Falmouth, Maine), who all signed NLIs in November.
