Faith Randolph scored 11 of Virginia’s first 15 points.
Randolph scored 11 points in her first seven minutes on the court.
Randolph went 6-of-12 from the field in the first half. The rest of the team combined to go 3-of-22 (13.6 percent).
Randolph only had two shot attempts in the second half, missing both shots.
Virginia had narrowed a 22-8 gap down to nine points (24-15) with 9:51 left in the first half, but Duke scored six straight to push the lead back out to double digits and outscored the Cavaliers 23-7 through the end of the half.

Virginia head coach Joanne Boyle served as an assistant coach at Duke from 1993 to 2002. She was also a four-year letterwinner at Duke, graduating in 1985. She is 0-3 coaching against her alma mater.
Virginia has lost 21-straight games against Duke and has only one victory in the last 27 meetings.
The Cavaliers are 0-2 this season against top-25 teams with all three of those losses coming to teams ranked in the top-3 (76-67 loss to No. 3 Tennessee and Sunday’s 79-72 loss to No. 2 Notre Dame).
The Cavaliers host No. 17 Florida State on Sunday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. before taking on No. 6 Maryland on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 6:30 p.m. at John Paul Jones Arena.
