Cavaliers' Rally Falls Short at Florida State, 3-1

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-The Virginia volleyball team fell at No. 3 Florida State, 25-17, 25-15, 20-25 and 25-22, Friday evening (Nov. 7). The Cavaliers fell to 15-10 (8-4 ACC) on the season, while the Seminoles (24-0, 12-0 ACC) stayed unbeaten on the campaign.
The Seminoles outhit Virginia, .286-.164, and led in blocks, 12-6.
Junior Natalie Bausback (Carlsbad, Calif.) led UVa with 12 kills on .526 hitting, while sophomore Jasmine Burton (West Hills, Calif.) led the team with 13 kills and senior Tori Janowski (Sterling, Va.) added 11 kills.
The Cavaliers hit only .118 and .100 in the first and second sets, falling 25-17 and 25-15, respectively.
In the third, Virginia built an 11-5 lead before the Seminoles fought back to within two at 19-17, but the Cavaliers earned four in a row and went on to win, 25-20.
The two teams were tied 22 in the fourth set, but Florida State earned the next three points to clinch the match, 25-22.
Milica Kubura led Florida State with 13 kills on .632 hitting.
