Team Notes
- Virginia opens a season 7-0 for the first time since 2003-04 (started 8-0)
- The 26 points allowed were fewest allowed by UVa in the shot clock era (since 1986)
- The Cavaliers captured a Thanksgiving tournament for the second straight season, winning the Corpus Christi Challenge last season
- Virginia also defeated Norfolk State, Tennessee State and La Salle in the Barclays Center Classic
- The Cavaliers held Rutgers scoreless for 9:24 in the second half (15:45 to 6:21)
