LOUISVILLE, Ky.–The Virginia softball team fell in the series finale at Louisville, 7-5, Sunday afternoon (March 15) at Ulmer Stadium. The Cavaliers fell to 5-21 (1-8 ACC), while the Cardinals improved to 13-7 (6-0 ACC).
The Cavaliers struck first in the top of the first when sophomore Katie Park (Scottsdale, Ariz.) drove home junior Aimee Chapdelaine (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) on a sacrifice fly. After Louisville tied the game in the bottom of the first, senior Megan Harris (Knoxville, Tenn.) scored on a Cardinal error and freshman Allison Davis (Oak Hill, Va.) scored on an infield single by Chapdelaine to give UVa a 3-1 lead.

Louisville grabbed the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run single by Maryssa Becker.
Freshman Andie Formby (Orange, Calif.) threw four innings of relief, allowing five runs in the loss (4-11). Madi Norman (5-4) picked up the win for Louisville, also throwing four innings with two runs allowed. Becker tossed a perfect seventh for her second save.
