CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 9 Virginia travels to Louisville for an ACC women’s tennis match on Saturday (April 4). First serve at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center is set for 11 a.m.
The Cavaliers (14-4, 7-2 ACC) face the Cardinals (10-11, 2-6 ACC) for the first time in school history. Louisville is the newest member of the ACC.
Virginia has posted back-to-back wins after dropping matches against Duke and Miami. The Cavaliers handled Wake Forest (7-0) and Boston College (6-1) in home matches this week.
In the ITA singles rankings, Julia Elbaba (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) is ranked No. 3, Danielle Collins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) is ranked No. 31 and captain Stephanie Nauta (Galveston, Texas) is ranked No. 34. Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.Va.) and Skylar Morton (Bethesda, Md.) are ranked No. 27 in doubles.
Elbaba has posted a 10-2 mark at No. 1 singles, Collins is 9-4 at No. 2 and Nauta is 8-4 at No. 3. Morton is 6-4 at No. 4 singles and Maci Epstein (Winter Park, Fla.) is 9-3 at No. 5. Mercer and Marie Faure (Toulouse, France) have combined for nine wins at No. 6 singles.
In doubles, Mercer and Morton have six wins at No. 2 and Elbaba and Epstein have five wins at No. 3. Nauta and Collins have four wins at No. 1.
