TALLAHASSEE, Fla.–The Virginia softball team fell at No. 10 Florida State, 8-0 in five innings, Sunday morning (April 19) at JoAnne Graf Field.
The Cavaliers (15-36, 4-17 ACC) had hits from sophomores Iyana Hughes (Manteca, Calif.) and Katie Park (Scottsdale, Ariz.). Lacey Waldrop (24-5) pitched the shutout for the Seminoles (37-11, 17-3 ACC). Freshman Alex Formby (3-13) took the loss for UVa.
Maddie O’Brien went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a home run to lead FSU.
The Cavaliers return to action Wednesday (April 22) when they travel to Lynchburg, Va., for a doubleheader at Liberty. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
