UVa Women's Golfers Tied for Fourth at Mason Rudolph After 36 Holes

Franklin, Tenn. – The Virginia women’s golf team is tied for fourth place after 36 holes of play at Vanderbilt’s Mason Rudolph Championship. The Cavaliers shot 1-over 289 Saturday for a two-day total of 1-under 575. Georgia leads the field at 561 followed by Alabama at 562. Northwestern is in third place at 564 and the Hoos are tied in the standings by Auburn and LSU.
Virginia senior Lauren Coughlin (Chesapeake, Va.) enters Sunday’s final round in second place at 7-under 137. She shot 1-under 71 on Saturday after opening the tournament with a 6-under 166. She trails Alabama’s Lakareber Abe on the leaderboard by two shots.
UVa’s Lyberty Anderson (Chesterfield, Va.) posted the team’s low second-round score, shooting 2-under 70, to improve to 19th place at 1-under 143. Senior Elizabeth Szokol (Winnetka, Ill.) is in 25th place at even par 144. Freshmen Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) and Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) are tied for 65th at 152. Fellow freshman Katharien Patrick, playing as an individual competitor, is in 35th position at 2-over 146.
UVa is set to tee off at 8:25 a.m. Sunday during the final round. The Cavaliers will be paired with Auburn and LSU.
