Head coach Joanne Boyle

“I thought we got some balls taken out of our hands and then Miami got some second-chance points, which is just deflating. We had some opportunities for transition when we missed some chippies and some bunnies and we had a shot blocked and they went down and scored on the other end. We didn’t match their physicality in the second half. I think our kids played hard, but they got a bit fatigued. We still won a lot of the battles for 50-50 balls and other situations like that.”

On Miami keeping the ball out of Sarah Imovbioh’s hands
“They really sagged off of Lauren [Moses]. They just let us take that high-post jump shot all night. We didn’t handle that well. So I tried to get [Sarah Imovbioh] some touches. When she did, she got fouled and went to the free throw line for us.”

On how this prepares the team for Georgia Tech
“They are kind of similar. They also press. A lot of ACC teams have an M.O. like that. They press. They are athletic. They attack the rim. It’s another team just like the last few that has a lot of athleticism.”

“We didn’t come out aggressive in the second half. I felt in the first half, we were going hard on defense. We just couldn’t pull it out in the second half. We needed to do a better job of getting the ball inside.
