CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. ââ’¬” The Virginia men’s basketball team was selected third by a vote of the media in the ACC Operation Basketball 2016-17 Preseason Poll, announced Wednesday during the ACC’s annual media event. Senior guard London Perrantes (Los Angeles, Calif.) was named to the Preseason All-ACC First Team.
Duke was voted the league’s preseason favorite, while North Carolina was picked second. Perrantes was joined by Duke’s Grayson Allen, Clemson’s Jaron Blossomgame, UNC’s Joel Berry II and NC State’s Dennis Smith, Jr., on the preseason first team.
Virginia opens the regular season Nov. 11 at UNC Greensboro. The home opener is Nov. 15 against St. Francis Brooklyn.
