CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Boston College (14-11, 2-1 ACC) captured its first Atlantic Coast Conference series with a 10-3 victory over Virginia (10-13, 2-4 ACC) in the final game of a three-game series at The Park.

UVA Top Performers

Allison Davis: 2-for-4, run

Danni Ingraham: 2-for-3, double, run

Iyana Hughes: 1-for-4, double, 2 RBIs

After falling behind 3-2 after the first inning, Boston College rallied in a big way, plating five runs in the top of the third inning. It marked only the third time a Cavalier opponent has scored more than five runs in a single inning. The inning accounted for five of the season-high 15 hits for Boston College.

The five-run rally was all Eagle pitcher, Jessica Dreswick, needed after a rocky first inning. She held the Cavaliers scoreless over the final five innings to earn her ninth win of the season. She pitched six innings and surrendered only two earned runs while striking out four. She recorded both wins in the series including a three-hitter in the series opener on Friday (March 10).

A 2-0 deficit was quickly erased by a three-run Virginia rally in the bottom of the first inning. The third double of the season for senior Iyana Hughes (Manteca, Calif.) scored both Katie Park (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Allison Davis (Oak Hill, Va.) with her third double of the season to tie the game at two. Danni Ingraham (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) scored the go-ahead run on a Boston College fielding error.

Over the final four innings, Dreswick and reliever Jordan Weed allowed just two Virginia hits.

Allison Davis and Ingraham accounted for four of the six Virginia base knocks, each collecting two.

For Boston College, Annie Murphy was 4-for-5 from the two-spot in the batting order and scored three times. A total of five Eagles recorded multi-hit performances.

The Cavaliers will begin a five-game road swing on Wednesday with a doubleheader at James Madison before continuing ACC Conference play at N.C. State on Friday (March 17).
