CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Sophomore Maggie Jackson (Alexandria, Va.) and junior Kasey Behr (Northport, N.Y.) were named to the 2017 All-American Teams the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association announced on Wednesday (May 17).

The IWLCA announced that 48 student-athletes were named to the All-American teams. The IWLCA will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA All-American Banquet on Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, Md.

Jackson, a second team selection, earned her first All-America honor after leading Virginia in points (74), ground balls (57), draw controls (71) and caused turnovers (33). She is the only player in the ACC to lead her team in those four categories. Jackson’s 33 assists ties for 10th at UVA in a single season and is the second-most by a second-year. The midfielder also ranks sixth in a single season with 71 draw controls. An All-ACC first team and IWLCA All-South Region first team selection, Jackson leads the ACC with 2.71 ground balls per game. She recorded at least one point in every game this season, scoring multiple goals in seven games with multiple assists in 12 contests.

It is also the first career All-America honor for Behr, who was named to the third team. The midfielder was second on the team with 39 draw controls, third with 24 caused turnovers and fifth with 33 goals. A second team All-ACC selection, Behr scored multiple goals in 10 games, with five of those being hat tricks. Behr scored two of UVA’s three goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to defeat Louisville in the ACC Quarterfinal. Behr scored in all but four games and finished with a goal, ground ball and draw control in six games this season.
