Charlottesville, Va. – The Virginia women’s golf team returns to action this weekend at North Carolina’s Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. The three-day tournament will run Friday through Sunday at the University’s par-72, 6,379-yard Finley Golf Course.
Single rounds are scheduled Friday (first tee times at 8:51 a.m.), Saturday (first tee times at 8:51 a.m.) and Sunday (shotgun start at 9:15 a.m.).
The 18-team field includes North Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Duke, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Rollins, South Carolina, Tulane, UNCW, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
Virginia’s lineup for this year’s tournament features junior’s Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas), Morgan Gonzales (Chandler, Ariz.) and Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.) and sophomore Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and freshman Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.). Sophomore Kate Harper (Isle of Palms, S.C. will compete as an individual.
Virginia was eighth at last year’s Tar Heel Invitational. Gonzales led the team by placing 17th at 2-over 218.
