Redding Leads UVA at Tar Heel Invite with 2-Under 70

Chapel Hill, N.C. – The Virginia women’s golf team shot 10-over 298 during the first round of play at the Tar Heel Invitational and are tied for 12th place with Vanderbilt. Duke leads the field at 5-under 283.
UVA was led by junior Anna Redding (Concord, N.C.), who shot 2-under 70 and is in seventh place after the opening 18 holes. Freshman Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) and junior Katharine Patrick (Houston, Texas) are tied for 56th place at 3-over 75. Junior Morgan Gonzales is in 75th place at 6-over 78. Sophomore Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) rounded out UVA’s scoring with an 80 and is in 86th position.
Sophomore Kate Harper (Isle of Palm, S.C.), who is competing as an individual, is in 92nd place at 81.
Wake Forest’s Jennifer Kupcho and Louisville’s Molly Skapik lead the field at 6-under 66.
The three-day tournament runs through Sunday.
