Five Wrestlers Place For Cavaliers At Mat-Town Open Sunday

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Five wrestlers placed in their weight class to lead a group of eight Cavaliers in competition on Sunday as members of the Virginia wrestling program competed at the Mat-Town Open hosted by Lock Haven.
Fred Green (Orting, Wash.) led the group of five place-finishers for the Cavaliers as he took the championship at 157 pounds. Green went 3-0 on the way to the division title in only his second action of the season.
Scott Kiyono (Poway, Calif.) and Jake Keating (Naperville, Ill.) both took second place, with Kiyono wrestling at 133 pounds and Keating wrestling at 149 pounds. Brian Courtney (Sayre, Pa.) took third place at 141 pounds, while Brian Kennerly (Drexel Hill, Pa.) took fourth at 197 pounds.
Quinn Miller (Lilburn, Ga.) and Robert Scherer (Lower Burrell, Pa.) also competed with both wrestlers competing at heavyweight, while Jack Miller (Westfield, N.J.) competed at 184 pounds.
