Team Notes
- UVA is now 1-1 all-time against Boise State
- UVA wins its fifth game all-time west of the Mississippi River and first since 1999 at BYU
- UVA’s 42 points is the most in a road non-conference game since a 44-14 win at Temple in 2004
- UVA won its first road non-conference game since 2011 (at Indiana)
- UVA becomes first non-conference team to win at Albertsons Stadium in 17 years, snapping a 32-game win streak.
- By 19 points UVA hands Boise State its sixth loss at Albertsons Stadium since 2002, which the previous five were a combined 23 points
- For the second time this season UVA scored 21 points in the first half
- UVA scored a touchdown on its opening possession of the second half for the third time this season. The only game UVA did not score on its opening possession of the second half was against UConn, which was the only game UVA scored on its opening possession of the game
- UVA’s one-play 56-yard touchdown drive is the 10th longest one-play scoring drive in program history
- The 56-yard rushing touchdown was UVA’s longest rush since the 2015 Pitt game (Albert Reid – 71)

Offensive Player Notes
- Jordan Ellis (TB) rushed for 30 yards on UVA’s first touchdown of the game, a drive that went 53 yards
- Ellis has rushed for at least one touchdown in every game this season and has seven for his career
- Ellis’ had a career-high two rushing touchdowns
- Ellis had a career high with 24 rushing attempts
- Olamide Zaccheaus (HB) finished the game with four receptions, becoming the 21st player in UVA history with 100 career reception
- Zaccheaus extended his active reception streak to 20 games
- Zaccheaus had a career-long 56-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
- Kurt Benkert (QB) finished with three passing touchdowns, giving him 31 for his career and passing Matt Johns for No. 5 all-time in the UVA record book
- Benkert has thrown for at least one touchdown in eight straight games
- Benkert has thrown for at least three touchdowns three times this season and seven times in his career
- Counting Benkert’s 64-yard touchdown to Andre Levrone, he has six passes of 50-yards or more for his career, which is tied for No. 5 all-time at UVA
- Andre Levrone finished with 5 receptions for 141 yards, his second straight and career 100-yard receiving game

Defensive Player Notes
- DE Steven Wright collected his second career sack and first since the Oregon game in 2016
- Brenton Nelson (SS) snagged his second interception of the season and his career in the fourth quarter on a 4th and one situation
- With 10 tackles, Quin Blanding (FS) became the fourth Cavalier all-time with 400 career tackles
- Blanding now has 401 career tackles
- Andrew Brown (DE) posted his first sack of the season and 8th of his career
Boise State Postgame Notes
– Boise State’s 42-23 loss to Virginia drops the Broncos to 2-2 on the season, and 2-2 all-time against the ACC.
– The 42 points allowed is the most by the Broncos at home since a 69-67, four-overtime victory over Nevada on Oct. 14, 2007.
– The loss snapped Boise State’s 24-game home non-conference winning streak…the last such loss was a 27-21 decision against Boston College on Dec. 28, 2005 in the MPC Computers Bowl.
– Boise State’s last home, non-conference loss in the regular season before Friday was a 41-20 loss to Washington State on Sept. 8, 2001.
– Boise State’s 30 rushing yards (on 24 attempts) was its lowest output since rushing for 34 yards on 30 carries at Utah State on Oct. 16, 2015.
– Boise State’s offense drove for a touchdown on its opening drive for the third-straight game…the last time the Broncos had done this was a four-game run beginning with the 2015 Poinsetta Bowl against Northern Illinois, and continuing with the first three games of 2016 (at Louisiana, vs. Washington State, at Oregon State).
– Boise State’s defense recorded a safety late in the fourth quarter…it was the team’s first safety since Sept. 25, 2015 at Virginia.
– Senior wide receiver Cedrick Wilson posted the first 200-yard receiving game of his career, and the seventh 100-yard receiving game of his career, setting career highs in receptions (13) and receiving yards (209) with a touchdown…his previous career high in receiving yards was 193 at Air Force last Nov. 25, while his previous career high in receptions was nine (twice, most recentl at Washington State on Sept. 9 of this season).
– Wilson’s 209 receiving yards are tied for seventh in Boise State single-game history (Tim Gilligan, at BYU, Oct. 30, 2003), and his 13 catches tie for eighth-most in a single game (tied with four others, most recently Shane Williams-Rhodes at Utah State on Oct. 12, 2013).
– Redshirt junior wide receiver A.J. Richardson set career highs in receptions (five) and receiving yards (80) Friday night.
– Quarterback Brett Rypien returned to action, completing 24-of-42 passes for 285 yards.
– Tight end Jake Roh ran for the second rushing touchdown of his career, scoring from two yards out just before halftime…it was Roh’s fifth touchdown of the season.
– Ryan Wolpin’s five-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was the first touchdown of his career.
– Redshirt freshman STUD Curtis Weaver recorded his third sack of the season Friday night, finishing the game with four tackles (two solo), 1.5 TFL, and a pass defended.
– Linebacker Tyson Maeva led the Broncos onto the field with The Hammer, safety DeAndre Pierce carried the “Bleed Blue” flag, and wide receiver A.J. Richardson carried the United States flag Friday night.
