Three Cavaliers Win Titles At Mat Town Open II On Saturday

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Three freshman members of the Virginia wrestling team won titles, while one finished third at his weight class on Saturday afternoon at the Mat Town Open II hosted by Lock Haven.
Jake Keating (Naperville, Ill.), Brian Kennerly (Drexel Hill, Pa.) and Drew Peck (Chambersburg, Pa.) all won the title at their weight class, while Sam Book (Fairfax, Va.) took third in his weight class. Keating wrestled at 149 pounds, while Kennerly won at heavyweight and Peck wrestled at 184 pounds. Book competed at 133 pounds.
Book dropped his first match of the day, before rallying with a pair of wins by technical fall to take third in his weight class.
Keating posted a perfect 3-0 mark on the day, winning all three matches by bonus-point victories. He turned in a tech fall in his first bout before taking the second in a major decision and pinning his third opponent.
Peck went 4-0 on the afternoon at 184 pounds, turning in a pair of pins and a pair of major decisions, while Kennerly also went 4-0 at heavyweight. Kennerly picked up three decisions and a pin fall on the way to his title.
