NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – For a second consecutive day, Virginia (9-22, 1-8 ACC) could not solve Boston College (12-15, 3-3 ACC) ace Jessica Dreswick as the Eagles completed the series sweep with a 3-0 win in the finale.

The shutout was the second of the series for Dreswick, who tossed a shortened perfect game in the series opener. On Saturday, the right-hander surrendered just three hits in her complete-game effort.

Boston College scored twice in the bottom of the first on a pair of hits. A leadoff double set the table before a sacrifice bunt was mishandled, allowing a run to score and the batter to advance to second. An RBI-single followed as the Eagles jumped to the 2-0 lead just three batters into the game.

The Eagles would add a run in the third. A pair of singles combined to push the insurance marker across the plate as the lead grew to 3-0.

At the plate, Virginia managed just three hits, two of which came off the bat of Olivia Gott (Weston, Fla.). The catcher doubled in the fourth to give the Hoos a runner in scoring position, but Gott was stranded aboard. She added a seventh-inning single to finish 2-for-2 with a walk.

Molly Keshin (New Cannan, Conn.) was the only other Cavalier to reach via a hit, laying down a bunt single in the third. The speedster swiped second in the inning, but she too was left stranded in scoring position.

Lacy Smith (Lancaster, Pa.) made the start and took the loss in the circle. Smith (5-6) went 2 1/3 innings, allowing three runs, only one of which was earned, on five hits. Erika Osherow (Darien, Conn.) tossed 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, scattering four hits.
