Zimmerman Double Header (of stories)
Ryan Zimmerman and the Nationals are having a solid year so far. Between trading the NL East lead back and forth with the Braves, helping the Capitals celebrate winning the Stanley Cup, and hosting the MLB All-Star Game, 2018 is shaping up to be their year. CFL Opener
The CFL season starts tonight for the Edmonton Eskimos and former UVA defensive end Mike Moore. The Eskimos and Moore open the season against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, a team his former UVA teammate Trent Corney plays for. You can watch Mike’s outlook on the season and the opener by clicking here.

Urban Renewal
Former UVA defensive lineman Brent Urban has suffered various long-term injuries during his NFL career with the @Ravens. The UVA graduate had some fun on social media in regards to his rehab and and video of head coach John Harbaugh telling the media “It is fun having Brent out there.” Urban has dubbed this time as “Urban Renewal in Progress.” You can watch all of Coach Harbaugh’s comments by clicking here.

#ProHoos
Sunday marked the second time this season that John Hicks and Artie Lewicki were battery mates for the Detroit Tigers. The duo were teammates at UVA for one season, 2011, which resulted in an ACC Championship and the program’s second all-time trip Omaha. In Sunday’s loss to the Indians, Hicks was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Lewicki went 5.0 IP, allowing three runs and striking out four.

Hoos in the CFL
Two UVA graduates met over the weekend in Canadian Football League preseason action. OL Justin Renfrow (2009-12) and QB David Watford (2011-14) were roommates during their time on Grounds. Currently, Renfrow plays for the Calgary Stampeders and Watford for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Former UVA wide receiver T.J. Thorpe also plays for Saskatchewan. Watford and Renfrow posed for a picture after the preseason game that the Stampeders won, 39-12. UVA has two other alums playing in the CFL currently. DL Trent Corney is playing for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and DL Mike Moore plays for the Edmonton Eskimos.
