Charlottesville, Va. –Virginia freshman women’s golfer Beth Lillie (Fullerton, Calif.) and sophomore Julia Ford (Shrewsbury, Mass.) have been named to the 2018 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars team. The criteria for selection to the team is to have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5.
It marked the second consecutive year Ford has been honored by the WGCA. She appeared in all 11 tournaments this season and helped UVA to a 22nd-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
Lillie, an All-ACC selection this season, was second on the team with a 73.47 stroke average. She took top honors at the Landfall Tradition tournament and was UVA’s top finisher at the ACC Championships, placing fifth overall. She ranked No. 63 in the final Golfstat standings, the 10th highest standing nationally among freshmen players. She was named to the NCAA Madison All-Region Team after placing seventh at that tournament.
