Current #UVAFH players Erin Shanahan, Makayla Gallen, Lauren Hausheer and incoming Hoo Greer Gill have spent a portion of their summer training at USA Field Hockey’s facility in Lancaster, Pa., participating in the Young Women’s National Championship. Shanahan has earned a spot on the U.S. Women’s National Development Squad and Gill is a member of the US U-21 team. Gallen and Hausheer have been invited to try out for the U21 squad at the end of the 2018 collegiate squad. All four are pictured here after a friendly against a junior squad from Scotland.
Former #UVAMLAX-er Mark Cockerton is representing his native Canada in the Men’s ID Lacrosse Championship in Netanya, Israel. The Canadian squad opened the championship with a 22-3 thumping of Scotland. Cockerton single-handedly outscored the Scots, contributing four goals.
